WELLNESS

Life Skills:

Nutrition Counseling

Covering conflict resolution, time management, cooking, personal hygiene, wellness, civic engagement, and transportation navigation. The curriculum also includes skills in navigating healthcare systems (e.g., booking appointments, understanding insurance), communicating with landlords and employers, and understanding personal safety in online and community spaces. Wherever possible, we integrate hands-on experiences and mentorship to reinforce practical application and build long-term self-efficacy.

Nutrition Counseling

Nutrition Counseling

Access to registered dietitians who work with residents to create a personalized nutrition plans and  help define and achieve goals for healthy living. We take into account lifestyle, preferences, and health needs to create a sustainable plan that works.

Gardening

 Gardening provides a sense of purpose and wellbeing when sowing seeds and reaping the harvest. It also increases nutritional value,  improves mood and memory, increases vitamin D, reduces blood pressure, lowers carbon footprint and creates a sense of community. 


*Our garden beds are ready to feed residents fresh fruits and veggies in season. 

Art Therapy

Art therapy provides a safe and non-judgmental space for individuals to express their emotions, anxieties, and trauma through creative mediums. This can help them process difficult experiences, reduce stress, and improve emotional well-being.

Prayer and Meditation

Yoga helps to increase levels of neurotransmitters such as serotonin and dopamine, which contribute to feelings of happiness and well-being. It also teaches mindfulness techniques that can help regulate emotions. It improves sleep quality, emotional regulation, increases resilience. reduced symptoms of depression and anxiety, improves self-awareness, body image acceptance, and increases a sense of self-worth.

We offer guided prayer, meditation, and devotional journaling as voluntary practices that support emotional regulation, inner peace, and spiritual grounding. For many of our residents, these moments of stillness and connection offer a powerful sense of purpose, comfort, and identity restoration—reinforcing healing beyond clinical care. Rooted in compassion and cultural humility, our approach honors each youth’s beliefs while creating space for personal reflection, renewal, and spiritual anchoring.
